Uniform

To the Ingleburn High School Community,

Apologies for the current situation around the changes to the school and sports uniform. To explain, at the beginning of the year DoE schools were required to run a process to update the school's uniform policy. Via consultation with the former P&C, student voice representatives and staff, a survey was developed to help form decisions for change to the uniform, logo and motto. This process is still continuing during Term 1, 2019 however, there have been changes to the uniform that will affect our students.

They are as follows:

Year 7 uniform 2019-2020 is the current uniform until all school stock is exhausted. Once this has occurred parents can purchase black shorts for school and black shorts for sport and PE from other suppliers as we do not currently stock these items. We will notify the community when new uniform stock has arrived.

For Years 8,9 and 10. current school uniform applies however, if your child has grown out of their current uniform and the school uniform shop does not have stock, you can purchase a plain lemon collared shirt, black shorts for school and sport from other suppliers.

For Years 11 & 12, current school uniform applies however, if your child has grown out of their current uniform and the school uniform shop does not have stock, you can purchase a plain white collared shirt and black shorts for school from other suppliers.

Please note: tracksuits, jeans, tights, football, rugby league shorts or lycra material have never been part of the school uniform policy and this will continue regardless of the changes. Short shorts are not appropriate and need to be mid-thigh in length. Any student uniform which is deemed not to meet our school uniform or wellbeing policy will be addressed with parents and care givers directly.

The school's junior and senior skirts will continue to be sold until all stock has been exhausted. The senior girls skirt will then become the skirt for all girls Years 7 to 12. This is the pleated skirt; not a straight skirt.

Black leather school shoes, white socks and joggers for sport will also continue as per current policy until further notice.

This term, students, staff and parents will be surveyed about our school logo and school motto and whether it requires change.

No student will be disadvantaged during 2019-2020 for any change to the uniform policy. Should you require financial assistance, Ingleburn High School has a student assistance policy. Please contact the school to arrange a meeting time with the relevant Deputy Principal.

We will keep you updated on a regular basis through our web page and Facebook as we progress through the changes to the uniform policy this year. If there are any concerns or questions with this process, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Again, we look forward to exciting times ahead for Ingleburn High School students with the opening of the 10 new classrooms later this term and the introduction of Futures Focus Learning in all of our class rooms.

Yours sincerely,
Rob Cheadle
