HPGE
In our classroom
In the classroom, HPGE is implemented through differentiated, challenging, and engaging learning aligned with the NSW DoE Strategy. Teachers intentionally develop the school’s student dispositions creative, productive, curious, resilient, socially responsible and empathetic through high-impact, evidence-based practice. Every student is supported to extend their potential and achieve growth across learning domains.
Creative
Students engage in open-ended tasks, problem-solving and opportunities for innovation. We encourage flexible thinking, originality, and divergent approaches through rich questioning and space for student-generated solutions.
Productive
Students learn to set goals, reflect on progress, and take increasing ownership of their learning. Through high expectations, scaffolded independence and targeted feedback, students build the habits needed to complete complex tasks and sustain effort.
Curious
Learning experiences are designed to provoke inquiry, exploration and intellectual risk-taking. Students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate concepts deeply and pursue areas of personal interest within and beyond the curriculum.
Resilient
We create supportive yet challenging environments where students build perseverance, adaptability and confidence when working through difficult tasks. Mistakes are framed as learning opportunities, fostering a growth mindset that is essential for high-potential learners.
Socially Responsible
Collaborative learning structures enable students to work ethically and positively with peers, contribute to group outcomes and consider diverse perspectives. Students engage in learning that connects to community need, identity and global citizenship.
Empathetic
Through inquiry, discussion, and reflective practices, students develop understanding, compassion and perspective-taking. Learning tasks encourage connection to the experiences of others, helping students navigate relationships and build emotional intelligence.
Across our school
HPGE is embedded across the school through differentiated, high-challenge, high support learning experiences in and beyond the classroom.
- Students develop their potential through leadership opportunities and participation in extracurricular programs such as CAPAtunities, STEM Club, and TASpire. Supporting creativity, innovation and deep engagement.
- Partnerships with universities, industry and community organisations provide pathways exploration and authentic learning experiences.
- Staff engage in evidence-informed professional learning to identify, extend and support individual student potential.
- Our cultural programs foster identity, belonging and opportunities for students to excel socially, emotionally, and academically.
Potential exists along a continuum, where differing degrees of potential require differing approaches and levels of adjustment and intervention.
Across NSW
Across NSW our students participate in high-level competition, enrichment, and collaborative opportunities. Some of our state-wide engagements include:
- Engagement with the Digital Literacy Hub (The Smith Family), STEM opportunities including CSIRO, Feeder Primary School and cross school network opportunities.
- Inclusive Cultural programs including Pathways to Dreaming, Junior AECG, Cultural Immersion with Campbelltown-Koshigaya Sister City Association, O’hana Program, NSW Council for Pacific Communities
- Competing in sporting events across zone, regional and state sport such as Macarthur Bulls Community Program, FUTSAL NSW Schools Championships,
- Engaged with Post school pathway opportunities such as Future Teachers Club, UTS U@Uni, Fast Forward, WSU.
